Now I’m starting to plan little tweaks and changes… We painted everything white when we moved in to keep things simple (as we did it ourselves!). Also under consideration is whether to change the overall paint colour of our living/dining room. I definitely want to add a paneling or moulding feature to the back wall. Plans are still in the works to change up this space a little more, as I mentioned in my article here. I love the fresh white feel of this DIY texture paint in our dining room. ![]() Using Textured Vases in our Spring Dining Room Decor: Here are some close up views of the textured finish… Quite a transformation, right? I paid only a few dollars for each of these vases, and now they look updated and expensive! I made a little video showing you how I transformed these thrift store vases… I painted a couple of base coats first to get full coverage, and then used a thicker ended brush to add and build up more texture. The thickness resembled sour cream after I had mixed it thoroughly. I added more than the instructions called for to create a thicker textured paint. I mixed some of my Fusion Mineral paint into a small dish and added a few spoonfuls of the texture powder. This is how these looked when I first brought them home… This post is not sponsored in anyway, I just recently found a local retailer that sells this paint and I wanted to give it a try! These are the products I used – though if you have a local retailer you may be able to find sample sizes of the paint. Most likely you could create the same effect with a white chalk paint or even interior latex paint, by adding the texture powder, though I haven’t tried it myself so I can’t say for sure. To make these vases I used the following products from Fusion Mineral Paint.
